I have tried this recipe yesterday and got appreciation; ) :p
My husband suggested me to post it...and here it is....
Ingredients-
Raw rice 2 cup(basamati)
Green peas 1 cup(fresh or frozen)
Garlic
Ginger
Green chilly
2 large onion
Clove 3 to 4
Cinnamon 3 to 4
Jeera
Oil 3 tbl spoon
Coriander leaves for garnishing
Recipe-
Firstly wash rice 2 to 3 times. Soak it in 4 cup water for about 20 min.
Meantime prepare garlic, ginger and green chilly paste.
And cut the onion into thin slices vertically.
We can pressure cook the rice or can cook it into vessel as well, I prefere to cook it into vessel.
Take 20 min soaked rice put a large vessel on gas pore 5 to 6 cup of water in it, add soaked rice and turn on the flame.
Dont forget to add salt and 1 tbl spoon of oil into it.as oil does not allow rice grains to stick.
Allow to cook it and chek it continuously it should not get overcooked.
You can check it by taking some rice on spoon.
Ones the rice is cooked take it out , you can use stainer to remove rice so that excess water will not come with rice.
Now take a pan , add 2 table spoon of oil into it. Ones the oil become hot add clove and cinnamon .
Ones they get fried add jeera let it fry well and then add sliced onion.
Fry onion till it turns golden brown. Dont burn onion as it taste bitter after burning.
Ones onion get fry add green peas into it.
Put a lid on it for 5 mint as it will soften the peas.
Now remove the lid and add cooked rice mix and salute it .
Taste it,You can add salt if required.
Add coriander leaves for garnishing.
Hey...your green peas pulav is ready..!!!
Now serve the rice with riata.
